Pet plastics continue to lead the growth of food packaging demand in North America

according to a BCC report, the rigid plastic food packaging market in North America will exceed 13.7 billion pounds (6.2 million tons) in 2008, and the market is expected to increase to 17.2 billion pounds by 2013, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.7%. In the report, the food packaging plastic market is divided into seven types, including pet, high-density polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene, low-density polyethylene, polycarbonate, SBC, PVC and others
