Pet waste is expected to be the first to realize professional recycling
recycling has become one of the key words widely concerned in China's plastic industry. Under the current conditions, it is still an indisputable fact that most plastic varieties have low recycling technology and low degree of specialization. For pet (polyethylene terephthalate), the industry generally believes that waste PET, especially beverage bottles and flexible packaging, is expected to become the first plastic variety to implement professional recycling
it is understood that since 2000, China's beverage industry has increased by more than 20% annually. In 2004, the total output of beverages in China reached 29.12 million tons, an increase of 22.7% over 2003. Experts predict that the average annual growth rate of China's beverage industry will exceed 15% in the next 15 years. The sustained and rapid development of the beverage industry will inevitably drive the sharp increase in the demand for beverage packaging, and then produce a large number of pet waste, including PET bottles and pet soft packaging, so that pet waste recycling enterprises have sufficient "raw materials" guarantee
according to experts, there are roughly four methods for recycling pet waste at present. First, separate waste PET bottles and flexible packaging from ordinary waste plastics, and implement separate recycling of pet waste. When recycling, special additives, such as ap-p-1000 or ap-p-1100, are added to enhance the thermal stability and impact strength of the recycled PET material, which is close to the performance of the new pet resin, and becomes the raw material for processing pet beverage bottles and other soft packaging. Second, pet waste is separated from ordinary waste plastics and then directly used for spinning and weaving after treatment. For example, Jiangsu Xiake environmental protection color textile Co., Ltd. is to recycle waste PET bottles. After cleaning, screening, finishing and crushing, they are extruded and spun into polyester, then spun and woven, and finally made into beautiful curtains, underwear, quilt covers, bedsheets, gloves, etc. Third, pet waste is processed into terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol and other raw materials. Fourth, pet waste is mixed with ordinary waste plastics and processed into recycled plastic particles, which are used as raw materials for low-grade plastic products such as wire drawing and blow molding films
among them, the last method is temporarily feasible, because the global supply of pet has exceeded the demand in the past two years, and its price has fallen sharply. At present, it is only about 10000 yuan/ton, which is not as strong as the price of ordinary PE and pp. therefore, it is economically cost-effective to mix waste PET with ordinary plastics for recycling. However, in the long run, with the rapid development of the global beverage industry, especially in China, the demand for bottle grade polyester chips will increase, and the oversupply of pet will be alleviated. Finally, the waste of this high-grade polymer is unlikely to be recycled as ordinary plastic, but can only be completed through professional recycling with higher profits
in order to implement the special recycling of pet waste, the first and key link is to separate it from ordinary waste plastics. Can we do this? The answer is yes
statistics show that the demand for polyester bottle chips in Asia reached 2.65 million tons in 2004, including 1.4 million tons in China. This year, China's demand for polyester bottle chips will reach 1.75 million tons. Among them, the tailorable nature of long glass and carbon fiber mixtures can provide the door opener they need. Polyester used to make various beverage bottles accounts for 80%, accounting for 1.4 million tons. Plastic bottles are one of the most easily separated and recycled waste materials. Nowadays, people pick up waste beverage bottles in major tourist attractions, along highways and railways. In restaurants, bars and other public places, someone specially collects waste plastic bottles. According to the statistics of the Ministry of information industry, China had more than 100000 small bars of large and small flexible packaging enterprises in 2004, with an annual growth rate of 5%. And a small bar with 100 computers cleans up more than 400 waste plastic bottles every day. According to this inference, China recycles more than 1.5 billion waste PET bottles from bar alone every year, with a total amount of more than 25000 tons. After implementing the garbage classification system in large and medium-sized cities, more than 50000 tons of waste plastic bottles and pet flexible packaging are recycled every year. Moreover, with the improvement of people's environmental awareness, more and more people have joined the ranks of consciously recycling waste bottles. In many schools where the author is located, students often use recess or holidays to pick up waste plastic bottles in campuses, streets, parks, squares and other places, and then take them to the "junk king" and sell them at the price of 0.07 ~ 0.25 yuan each. There are almost no waste beverage bottles that can be seen everywhere around
therefore, we have reason to believe that the rapid development of the global beverage industry will increase the demand for PET packaging, especially PET bottles, and may produce a large amount of pet waste, but there is no need to worry about the environmental pollution caused by pet waste. The prospect is very decadent, because driven by recycling technology, market demand and early separation, the pet waste recycling industry will not only achieve rapid development, In addition, it will realize the professional recycling of waste products in all synthetic resins. Relevant data have proved this point. Before 2002, the recycling rate of waste plastic bottles in China was less than 30%, which rose to 45% in 2004 and is expected to exceed 60% this year
